Top 5: Popular Meal Kits That Are Most (Vegetarian) Weight Watchers Friendly!
So you want to try vegetarian meal kits on Weight Watchers? Let’s look deeper into 5 of the top meal kit delivery services. Do they have a variety of vegetarian options? How many Weight Watchers points will their meals cost you?
Since meal kit delivery is all the rage, I thought I would investigate the top 5 available in my area (Columbus, Ohio). I have questions! Are there any that provide enough variety to make the meals interesting and give me choices? Are they offering recipes that make sense to order through a meal kit service (I can buy a box of pasta, jar of sauce, bag of onions and peppers from Aldi’s for $6.48 and that would make 8 servings). Are the choices offered WW friendly? I was surprised by what I found out!
Each of these recipes were calculated based on the suggested directions. They could be made a bit more WW friendly if you reduced the amount of oil called for in the recipe.

I think that the most disappointing conclusion that I have after reviewing many of the meal kits on offer is that they do not seem to be balanced or particularly interesting meals (except for Sun Basket and Plated). Perhaps if you ate meat, but were looking to do a meatless Monday, the options available wouldn’t seem so limited? Meal kit people - pastas and grains are not the only thing available to vegetarians! At least pick more exciting grains like bulgur, quinoa or barley!
Let’s hope that in the future, these companies will put a bit more effort and thought to all of the delicious adventurous foods that vegetarians are looking for in their dinner choices.
